Ride For The Rough (Ruff) Days 2026
A Bike Ride for Mental Health

Ride for the Ruff Days is a 40-day charity bike ride from Perth to Canberra, raising funds for Lifeline Canberra and Dogs Canberra, which are two organisations providing very different kinds of connection when people need it most.

Travelling approximately 100 km a day across Australia’s southern coast, the team will take on more than 4,000 km by bike, sharing the highs, the hard days and the conversations along the way. The ride is built around a simple idea: connection can make a difference when someone is struggling. Sometimes that connection is a conversation with a Lifeline Crisis Supporter. Sometimes it’s the companionship of a dog.

More than anything, Ride for the Ruff Days is about community and reminding people across Australia that no one has to face the tough days alone. It’s okay to struggle. It’s okay to ask for help. And support is always there.

"Improving the lives of shelter dogs, while supporting community mental health!"

Welcome to Dogs Canberra!

As a registered charity, we focus on rehabilitating dogs from traditional shelters, helping them build resilience through professional training and community interaction.

Our open-shelter model allows people to walk, play, and bond with our dogs—benefiting both pups and humans alike. Through our Pilot Program (2024-2025), we're creating lasting connections while reducing shelter overcrowding.

Join us in making a difference, one wagging tail at a time!
